About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct day‑to‑day studio operations, ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and compliance with university policies.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with research goals and drives adoption of machine‑learning technologies.
- Lead cross‑functional teams of researchers, engineers, and designers to deliver AI‑enabled projects on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud‑based AI infrastructure, primarily using AWS services.
- Manage project portfolios, track milestones, and report progress to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Foster partnerships with academic departments, industry partners, and funding agencies to expand AI research capabilities.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience leading studio or research operations combined with proven AI strategy development.
- Strong technical expertise in machine learning, Python programming, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, interdisciplinary projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and grant‑writing skills.
