About the Team
You’ll join Locations Experiences, which owns the core member experience at Life360. The team’s work spans Safety, Connection, and Coordination — and Engagement is the focus area dedicated to expanding the user base through L5+ frequency and durable MAU. You’ll lead the strategy for deepening connection across members and the relationships they hold close, partnering closely with Growth and Product Platform teams across Life360.
About the Job
We’re hiring a Director of Product to own the engagement strategy across Life360’s member experience. This is a director-equivalent IC role — you won’t manage a team of PMs, but you’ll set the strategic direction for how Life360 deepens and broadens member engagement across every relationship type, daily moment, and family rhythm on the platform.
The scope is broader than a single feature area. You’ll define the engagement framework that connects connection, coordination, and safety surfaces into a coherent member experience — and you’ll influence across Growth, Platform, and adjacent product teams that depend on engagement infrastructure. This role requires someone who can set multi-quarter strategy, drive clarity from ambiguity, and ship through cross-functional partnership at scale.
Life360 operates as an AI-native organization. You’ll use AI across your entire workflow — research synthesis, spec drafting, experiment analysis, prototyping — and you’ll contribute to defining what AI-native product management looks like at Life360.
What You’ll Do
- Own the engagement strategy and roadmap across connection, coordination, and safety surfaces — setting multi-quarter direction and influencing at the org level
- Drive engagement growth across the member experience: identify and ship the highest-impact ways to deepen frequency, broaden multi-circle participation, and compound durable MAU
- Define the engagement metric framework — L5+ frequency, multi-circle activity, relationship depth — and use it to prioritize bets, design experiments, and measure outcomes
- Partner with Growth to convert acquisition into durable engagement: drive measurable lift in circles with multiple engaged members and members active in 2+ circles
- Influence across product teams that depend on engagement infrastructure — Growth, Platform, Safety — as a senior peer, not a dependent
- Lead experimentation at multiple scales: fast, narrow tests to validate hypotheses and multi-quarter bigger bets as strategy demands
- Ship the whole member experience end-to-end: onboarding, contextual prompts, modular components, and the engagement experiences that bring relationships to life across the product
- Operate as an AI-native PM: use AI to accelerate from insight to shipped experiment, and help define the playbook for AI-native product management at Life360
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of consumer product experience with a track record of driving engagement and growth outcomes at scale. Strong consumer instinct paired with technical fluency to hold your own with engineering leads.
- Strategic ownership at the director level. You set multi-quarter direction, create clarity from ambiguity, and influence across teams — not just within your own. You’ve owned engagement strategy for a product with tens of millions of users.
- Versatility and depth. This role spans engagement strategy, member experience, growth partnership, and instrumentation. You move between systems thinking, UX detail, and quantitative experimentation — and bring real depth in at least one of activation, growth, or consumer engagement platforms.
- Growth-shaped instincts. You’ve worked on activation, virality, or onboarding. You think in funnels and cohorts naturally, and you’ve shipped initiatives that materially moved top-line engagement or acquisition numbers.
- Experimentation expertise across scales. You cycle fluidly between fast, narrow experiments and multi-quarter bigger bets. You design metric frameworks, not just track KPIs.
- Cross-functional leadership. Eng, Design, and Growth partners seek you out. You drive consistent shipping cadence, navigate complex trade-offs, and ensure quality — all while toggling between strategic framing and IC-level spec work.
- AI-native operator and builder. Research synthesis, spec drafting, experiment analysis, and reporting run autonomously. You prototype with AI to validate ideas and accelerate the path from idea to test. Not an engineering role, but a builder one.
- Excellent communication and storytelling. You synthesize diverse inputs into compelling narratives, adjust framing for different audiences, and create alignment through quality of argument.
- Deep empathy for families and relationships. You care about the human problems — keeping a teen safe, staying close to an aging parent, coordinating daily life — and that empathy drives your product instinct.
