Lead the engineering team building GitLab's analytics platform, driving data pipelines, cloud-native services, and product features using Python, Go, Kubernetes, SQL, and AWS to deliver actionable insights at scale.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product roadmap for the analytics platform, aligning engineering delivery with business goals.
- Architect, build, and scale cloud‑native data pipelines and services using Python, Go, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and product managers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and security through robust SQL schema design, data modeling, and observability practices.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to integrate analytics into GitLab’s DevSecOps workflow and drive AI‑enhanced insights.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior technical leadership role.
- Deep expertise in Python and Go for building data‑intensive services.
- Strong background in Kubernetes orchestration and AWS cloud services (ECS/EKS, S3, Redshift, etc.).
- Proven experience designing and optimizing large‑scale SQL databases and data models.
- Track record of delivering analytics or data platform products that serve millions of users.
