Director of Digital Innovation - Anne Arundel County Public Schools

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a district-wide AI strategy, ensuring alignment with educational goals and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Design and oversee a comprehensive data governance framework, establishing policies, standards, and stewardship practices for data quality, security, and privacy.
• Collaborate with instructional, operational, and IT leaders to identify high-impact AI use cases, pilot projects, and scalable deployments.
• Lead cross-functional teams in the selection, implementation, and monitoring of AI and machine learning tools, ensuring robust performance and continuous improvement.
• Advise senior leadership on emerging AI technologies, risk mitigation, and best practices for responsible AI adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in AI, data governance, or enterprise architecture within an educational or large public sector environment.
• Proven track record of leading AI initiatives, managing data governance programs, and driving cross‑departmental collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data security/privacy regulations.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
