About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the AI research strategy for next‑generation surgical robotics.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, and clinicians to develop and validate machine learning models for real‑time surgical guidance.
- Collaborate with product, clinical, and regulatory teams to translate research into manufacturable, FDA‑cleared solutions.
- Publish findings in top AI and medical journals, and represent the organization at industry conferences.
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a focus on AI/ML.
- 10+ years of experience leading AI research, preferably in medical or robotic domains.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and large‑scale data pipelines.
- Strong publication record and experience navigating regulatory pathways for medical devices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
