Leads the design, implementation, and operation of cloud‑native compute and data platforms, driving scalable infrastructure, automation, and analytics solutions for cutting‑edge biomedical research.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and manage secure, high‑performance cloud and on‑premise compute environments supporting large‑scale biomedical data workloads.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, establishing DevOps best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code standards.
- Design and optimize data pipelines, storage solutions, and analytics platforms using technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Python.
- Collaborate with research scientists and IT partners to translate scientific requirements into reliable, reproducible infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce governance, security, and compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, data platform engineering, and large‑scale infrastructure management.
- Proven expertise with AWS services, Kubernetes orchestration, Linux systems, and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and familiarity with data engineering frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to mentor technical teams and drive cross‑functional projects.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or research environments is a plus.
