Leads C5ISR strategy and serves as CIO, overseeing cybersecurity, cloud, network architecture, and data analytics to enable mission‑critical information services for a major naval command.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) strategy aligned with fleet operational goals.
- Provide overall CIO leadership, establishing IT governance, policy, and risk management frameworks across the command.
- Direct the design, implementation, and sustainment of secure network and cloud infrastructures supporting mission‑critical applications.
- Oversee cybersecurity programs, incident response, and compliance with DoD and federal information security standards.
- Lead data analytics and intelligence initiatives to transform raw data into actionable insights for decision makers.
- Manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and support staff, fostering professional development and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in C5ISR, information technology, or related defense domains, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity, cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), and large‑scale network architecture.
- Strong background in IT governance, risk management, and compliance within a DoD or federal environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, manage multi‑budget programs, and deliver complex technology solutions on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of interfacing with senior military leaders and external partners.
