Drive AI‑enabled digital transformation by designing, building, and deploying agentic AI solutions that automate asset management processes, improve safety and operational efficiency, and integrate with existing Shell platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement agentic AI workflows that automate safety, environment, and asset management tasks across upstream and downstream operations.
- Develop, fine‑tune, and deploy large language model (LLM) based solutions, including prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, and tool‑calling capabilities.
- Collaborate with data engineers and cloud architects to build scalable data pipelines and integrate AI services with existing Shell platforms (e.g., SAP, PI, GIS).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross‑functional teams on AI best practices, model governance, and performance monitoring.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, conduct proof‑of‑concepts, and recommend adoption strategies aligned with the Shell Performance Framework.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering AI/ML solutions in an industrial or energy context.
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain) and hands‑on experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Llama).
- Strong background in data engineering, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into AI‑driven automation, with solid understanding of safety and compliance considerations.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with global, multidisciplinary teams.
