Software Engineer
System Administration and Support Professional focused on PPC‑centric applications such as HR & Payroll, eLearning and Recruitment, leveraging Python, Node.js, AWS, SQL and Linux to deliver robust, scalable solutions across the university’s digital services.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support PPC‑focused systems (HR & Payroll, eLearning, Recruitment) ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python and Node.js to streamline deployment, monitoring and data integration.
- Implement and manage cloud resources on AWS, including EC2, RDS, S3 and IAM policies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement database solutions using SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for end‑users and stakeholders, documenting solutions and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Linux system administration and scripting.
- Strong knowledge of Python and Node.js for application development and automation.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL query optimisation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
