Software Engineer
Digital Engineer focused on highway design and digital infrastructure solutions, leveraging Python, GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BIM to deliver innovative, efficient road network projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital design solutions for access roads, haul roads and other highway infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BIM tools.
- Integrate GIS data into design workflows to support spatial analysis and route optimisation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural and environmental engineers, to ensure design consistency and quality.
- Automate repetitive design tasks with Python scripts, improving productivity and reducing errors.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of digital processes, standards and best practices across the Roads business.
Requirements
- Proven experience in highway or civil engineering design using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BIM.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and automation.
- Solid understanding of GIS concepts and experience with GIS software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a collaborative, digitally‑driven environment.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to complex engineering challenges.
