Security Engineer
DevSecOps Engineer responsible for supporting the combat management system’s operational environment, providing SME guidance, building CI/CD pipelines, and designing secure, cloud‑native architectures for Canadian government projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the operational environment for the Combat Management System (CMS 330) ensuring high availability and security.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for system design, providing guidance to development teams on secure architecture and best practices.
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to provision and manage cloud resources, supporting both development and production workloads.
- Collaborate with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve development‑related issues, integrating security controls early in the development lifecycle.
- Produce technical documentation and report progress to the program team lead.
Requirements
- Strong experience with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline creation and security automation.
- Proficiency in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively in a multi‑disciplinary team.
