Leidos is looking for our next TS/SCI‑cleared DevOps Software Engineer to join a high‑energy team building and deploying a cutting‑edge technology stack in support of the DIA‑NMEC (National Media Exploitation Center) DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). This role is part of a 10‑year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where you’ll contribute to mission‑critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth‑oriented team.
While the majority of work is performed on‑site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.
What You’ll Do
As a DevOps Software Engineer, you’ll help design, deploy, and maintain a full‑stack, containerized microservices architecture. You’ll also support systems administration, installation, configuration, and the broader adoption of DevOps best practices across cross‑functional engineering teams. In this fast‑paced environment, you’ll collaborate closely with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.
You will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:
Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big‑data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka
Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability
Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments
Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements
Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities
Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models
Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities
What You Bring
You’re enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds. You also meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master’s
Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph
Strong Linux proficiency
Hands‑on experience with containers and Kubernetes
Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab
Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
Demonstrated success working in cross‑functional engineering environments

Experience operating systems at scale

Development experience (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.)
