Lead a cross‑functional engineering team to build and scale the Sustainability Control Tower, driving data‑driven insights and operational excellence across SAP’s Sustainability Growth Unit using Java, SAP HANA, and cloud‑native DevOps practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain the Sustainability Control Tower platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of developers, data engineers, and QA specialists using Agile Scrum practices.
- Integrate SAP HANA and cloud services to ingest, process, and analyze sustainability data from diverse sources.
- Collaborate with product owners to define feature roadmaps, prioritize backlog, and deliver incremental value.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices to accelerate release cycles.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in Java, SAP HANA, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong background in data analytics, sustainability metrics, and reporting.
- Hands‑on experience with Agile Scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for driving sustainable business outcomes.
