Leads the Roadway and Stormwater Section, overseeing public and private infrastructure projects, managing budgets, and representing the city on engineering matters while ensuring high‑quality service and regulatory compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the Roadway and Stormwater Section, coordinating design, construction, and maintenance of streets, drainage, and related infrastructure.
- Develop, monitor, and control the operating budget for the section, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.
- Lead project planning, permitting, and execution for public and private improvement initiatives, adhering to city standards and timelines.
- Serve as the city’s technical representative in engineering matters, interfacing with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and the public.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater, road design, and environmental protection.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in street, roadway, or stormwater engineering, including supervisory or management roles.
- Proven ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets and complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD and GIS, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent communication, customer‑service, and leadership skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
