About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic vision and operational leadership for the Institute’s data science research portfolio.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across university faculties and external partners, translating research into real‑world impact.
- Lead recruitment, mentorship and development of senior researchers, post‑doctoral fellows and graduate students.
- Secure competitive funding, manage large‑scale grants and oversee budgetary planning.
- Represent the Institute in national and international forums, enhancing its reputation and industry engagement.
Requirements
- Established record of high‑impact research in Data Science, Machine Learning or related fields, with a strong publication record.
- Demonstrated experience in research leadership, grant acquisition and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in programming and analytics tools such as Python, SQL and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent communication and networking skills to build strategic partnerships with industry, government and academic stakeholders.
- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or a closely related discipline.
