Job Description
- Ensure that all installation, configuration, and tuning of DB2 databases are completed efficiently.
- Author and validate procedures for all database processes.
- Identify potential issues and deliver modifications I updates for DB2 programs.
- Communicate with and deliver to Tech Support all elements to be migrated with specific instructions to be performed during the production migration.
- Assist Systems areas with tool upgrades and participate in Disaster Recovery drills.
- Define and execute databases recovery functions, definition and execution of standard database tuning procedures (e.g., runstats, reorgs).
- Monitor the health of the key database operations (backup/ recovery processes, logging, system response times, etc).
- Open and manage tickets logged with IBM to resolution.
- Work with application development teams to install and migrate software releases (DB2 tasks) and support execution of data fixes (backups, packaging for production, etc).
- Perform DB2 DB troubleshooting of online and batch programs during production, user acceptance testing, integrated system testing, performance testing and development phases of the work effort.
- Design and execute technical tests to ensure that vendor and FISA software deliveries address the business and technical problems in a manner consistent with FISA standards for quality and completeness.
- Perform the all system administration activities for the IBM lnfoSphere Data Replication product. High availability of the product is required, as it is a critical part of the City's Financial Management System.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or, 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or, 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
