Lead end‑to‑end database migrations on AWS, designing and executing modern solutions for Oracle and SQL Server workloads using Aurora, DynamoDB, and RDS. Drive discovery, schema assessment, POC validation, and production cutover for enterprise customers.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and schema assessment for customers migrating from Oracle and SQL Server to AWS database services.
- Design migration architectures using Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon RDS, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Develop and execute proof‑of‑concepts, validate data integrity, and refine migration plans based on test results.
- Plan and coordinate production cutover activities, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless transition.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide technical guidance and best‑practice recommendations throughout the migration lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in database administration and migration projects involving Oracle, SQL Server, and AWS database services.
- Deep knowledge of Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, and RDS, including performance tuning and security best practices.
- Strong analytical skills for schema assessment, data mapping, and migration strategy development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering complex migrations on schedule.
- Hands‑on experience with migration tools such as AWS Database Migration Service and third‑party solutions.
