Seasoned Database Infrastructure Engineer needed to own and stabilize a multi‑vendor database estate, focusing on Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQL environments while supporting automation and performance tuning.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end‑to‑end technical ownership of the organization’s Oracle and PostgreSQL database estate.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, availability, and capacity issues to ensure high‑availability service levels.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures across all database platforms.
- Develop and automate routine operational tasks using shell scripting and configuration‑management tools.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to design, test, and roll out database changes and upgrades.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience administering Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in production.
- Strong SQL proficiency and solid understanding of relational database concepts.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting for automation.
- Proven ability to manage backup/recovery, patching, and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote‑first setting.
