Lead a high‑performing Database & Platform Engineering team, overseeing on‑prem and cloud data solutions such as MySQL, Redis, MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas while driving reliability, performance, and scalability.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Database Administrators and Platform Engineers responsible for on‑prem and cloud database environments.
- Design, implement, and optimize data architectures for MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, and MongoDB Atlas to meet performance and availability targets.
- Develop and enforce best practices for database provisioning, monitoring, backup, recovery, and security across hybrid infrastructures.
- Collaborate with application, DevOps, and security teams to integrate data services into CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, capacity planning, and cost‑optimization for database workloads.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB (including MongoDB Atlas) in production environments.
- Proven leadership experience building and scaling high‑performing database engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering reliable data solutions in fast‑paced environments.
