Remote Database Developer responsible for designing, building, and optimizing SaaS data solutions, focusing on SQL development, data modeling, and performance tuning across Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain relational database schemas and objects to support SaaS applications for child‑care subsidy management.
- Write efficient, secure SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
- Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization to ensure high‑availability and low‑latency operations.
- Collaborate with application developers and product owners to translate business requirements into robust data models.
- Implement and manage ETL processes for data integration from external systems and ensure data quality.
- Monitor database health, conduct capacity planning, and apply patches or upgrades as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with relational databases, primarily Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, window functions, and stored procedure development.
- Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with ETL tools or scripting for data migration and integration.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative team environment.
