Software Engineer
The Data Specialist supports the Data Science department by preparing, analyzing, and visualizing datasets, developing reproducible workflows, and assisting faculty and students with statistical and machine‑learning methods using Python, R, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities
- Extract, clean, and transform raw data from diverse sources to create reliable, analysis‑ready datasets.
- Develop and maintain reproducible data pipelines and scripts using Python, R, and SQL.
- Perform statistical analyses and build machine‑learning models to support research projects and coursework.
- Create clear, interactive visualizations and dashboards for faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
- Document data workflows, metadata, and best‑practice guidelines to ensure data integrity and reproducibility.
- Provide technical assistance and training to students and faculty on data‑handling tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases and data warehousing.
- Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., ggplot2, Matplotlib, Plotly) and dashboarding tools.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, machine‑learning techniques, and data‑cleaning best practices.
