Lead the design and implementation of a secure, hybrid cloud data architecture for a global life‑sciences data estate, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks while protecting sensitive clinical and commercial data.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve a comprehensive data security framework across on‑premises, hybrid, and multi‑cloud environments.
- Define and enforce security controls, including IAM, encryption, data masking, and network segmentation.
- Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and compliance teams to embed security into data pipelines and analytics workflows.
- Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and security architecture reviews for new and existing data initiatives.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and incident response playbooks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data security architecture within large, regulated industries.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security best practices for AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Proficiency with IAM, encryption standards, and data protection technologies.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, GDPR, and other data privacy regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
