Data Scientist who partners with business stakeholders to design and deploy advanced statistical and machine‑learning models on large‑scale cloud data platforms, delivering actionable insights for mining and material‑movement operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business owners to translate operational goals into data‑driven solutions.
- Design, develop, and validate statistical and machine‑learning models on big‑data sets.
- Implement end‑to‑end pipelines in cloud environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Produce clear visualizations and reports that communicate insights to non‑technical audiences.
- Work with technology development teams and third‑party partners to integrate models into production systems.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and its data‑science libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Experience building and deploying machine‑learning models on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid background in statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
- Hands‑on experience with big‑data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or distributed SQL engines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with stakeholders and engineering teams.
