Senior Data Scientist designing and building AI-driven analytics for grid utilities, leveraging Python, ML, AWS, and SQL to deliver actionable insights and dynamic operating envelopes.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that predict grid performance and optimize asset utilization.
- Build scalable data pipelines on AWS to ingest, clean, and transform large volumes of utility telemetry.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data science solutions.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to uncover actionable insights for grid operators.
- Document model logic, performance metrics, and maintain reproducible codebases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics within the energy or utilities sector.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and AWS services (S3, Redshift, SageMaker).
- Strong background in supervised/unsupervised learning, time‑series forecasting, and model deployment.
- Experience with data pipeline tools (Airflow, dbt) and version control (Git).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced startup environment.
