Role Description:

We are seeking a Data Scientist III to advance ShipBob ’s predictive capabilities across sales, inventory, transportation, and transit time estimation. This role is pivotal in building robust forecasting models that power strategic choices and operational excellence. You will design and deploy machine learning solutions that anticipate demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve delivery accuracy, directly impacting customer experience and cost efficiency.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate business needs into scalable predictive systems. Leveraging statistical modeling, time-series analysis, and machine learning techniques, you will develop models that forecast trends, mitigate risks, and enable proactive planning. This position requires strong analytical thinking, a data-informed mindset, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders across supply chain, finance, and product teams. This role reports toDirector, Supply Chain Forecasting.

• Develop and deploy advanced forecasting models for sales, inventory, transportation, and transit time estimation to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with fulfillment, transportation, revenue, product, engineering, and data science teams to translate business needs into predictive solutions that drive cost savings and enhance customer experience.
• Own machine learning projects end-to-end—from ideation, data exploration, and prototyping to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
