About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate predictive risk models for financial crime detection using machine‑learning and statistical methods.
- Collaborate with business analysts and risk partners to translate regulatory and operational requirements into analytical solutions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines in SQL and Python to extract, transform, and load large‑scale transaction data for modeling.
- Perform model performance monitoring, back‑testing, and ongoing calibration to ensure robustness and compliance.
- Communicate model insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders through clear visualizations and documentation.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, with a focus on risk or fraud modeling in the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, PySpark) and strong SQL querying skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical modeling, feature engineering, and model validation techniques.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to convey complex analytical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
