Data Scientist
Lead interdisciplinary data science projects, building predictive models and scalable analytics solutions using Python, SQL, and AWS, while collaborating with faculty, students, and industry partners to drive research impact.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to solve complex research problems across diverse domains.
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and industry partners to scope projects, define data requirements, and translate research questions into analytical solutions.
- Implement end‑to‑end data pipelines using SQL, Python, and AWS services, ensuring data quality, security, and reproducibility.
- Visualize findings and communicate results through interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices, documentation, and training materials.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning, data modeling, and analytics.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly) is a plus.
