Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate predictive and prescriptive models to improve student aid allocation and risk assessment.
- Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from multiple federal systems using SQL and data‑engineering tools.
- Apply statistical and machine‑learning methods (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) to uncover trends and support policy decisions.
- Create clear visualizations and dashboards that communicate findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with program analysts, IT, and policy teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Document methodologies, code, and results to ensure reproducibility and compliance with federal data standards.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience applying Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine‑learning pipelines.
- Proficiency with SQL and experience handling large, complex relational databases.
- Strong knowledge of statistical techniques, experimental design, and data‑visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical results to diverse, non‑technical audiences.
