About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced statistical and machine learning models to detect fraud, waste, and abuse across large government datasets.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define analytical requirements, translate business questions into data‑driven solutions, and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Perform rigorous data cleaning, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis using Python and SQL, ensuring high data quality and integrity.
- Develop automated reporting pipelines and dashboards to monitor key fraud indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging fraud detection techniques, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to maintain cutting‑edge analytical capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience applying machine learning and statistical modeling to fraud or risk analytics.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
