Data Scientist in Global FP&A Technology building scalable forecasting and AI solutions for Amazon’s financial planning, leveraging Python, SQL, ML, and AWS to drive reporting, cost allocation, and business enablement across corporate finance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy predictive models and forecasting algorithms to support Amazon’s financial planning and analysis.
- Collaborate with Corporate FP&A and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and AWS services to ingest, transform, and store financial data.
- Integrate machine learning models into production workflows, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with data governance standards.
- Present insights and model outcomes to senior finance leaders, translating technical findings into actionable business recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Quantitative Analyst in a finance or FP&A environment.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with hands‑on experience in AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue).
- Deep knowledge of machine learning techniques, time‑series forecasting, and statistical modeling.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex models to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
