Data Scientist
Contract Data Scientist specializing in computational biology to process, analyze, and visualize next‑generation sequencing data (RNA‑seq, scRNA‑seq, long‑read) using Python, R, and machine‑learning methods.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pipelines for processing bulk RNA‑seq, single‑cell RNA‑seq, and long‑read (Nanopore, PacBio) datasets.
- Perform statistical analysis, differential expression, and pathway enrichment to derive biological insights.
- Create interactive visualizations and dashboards to communicate results to cross‑functional teams.
- Apply machine‑learning models for cell‑type classification, trajectory inference, and predictive biomarker discovery.
- Document workflows, maintain reproducible codebases, and ensure compliance with data‑management standards.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization.
- Hands‑on experience with RNA‑seq, scRNA‑seq, and long‑read sequencing analysis tools (e.g., STAR, CellRanger, Minimap2, Salmon).
- Familiarity with machine‑learning libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) applied to genomics data.
- Background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field with a track record of publishing or delivering analytical results.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
