Data Scientist (Compliance) - Global Payments

Team Introduction

The Global Payments team provides professional payment solutions with smooth functioning of payment channels to all global businesses of ByteDance to support the expansion and growth of ByteDance’s global businesses. Global payments has offices including: Beijing, Shanghai , Shenzhen, Hangzhou , Singapore and Mountain View.

The Global Payments Compliance team's duty is to establish a comprehensive and strong compliance foundation with sanction screening, transaction monitoring, risk rating system to systematically enable business models, revenue growth, and protect executives from possible legal liabilities for Bytedance (e.g. TikTok Live, TikTok Shop, Resso).

Responsibilities

• Understand each business line and payment scenarios well, design Red Flags to monitor potential compliance risk scenarios;
• Discover risk trends and behaviour patterns based on massive data;
• Optimize and iterate compliance strategy standardly, systematically, timely and proactively;
• Follow up the latest research progress in the fields of anti-money laundering and fund security in the finance / technology industry, and apply it in the work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics or other related majors;
• 2+ years of data analysis experience, preferably in trust & safety / compliance;
• Proficient in big data tools such as SQL / Hive / Spark;
• Familiar with Python and Machine Learning and Data Mining models;
• Data-sensitive, with strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, and strong data-driven sense;
• Ability to communicate and influence across teams and regions; ability to find win-win solutions that meet the objectives of cross-functional partners while reducing risk.
