Data Scientist role driving advanced analytics and machine‑learning solutions for high‑impact public sector programmes, leveraging Python, SQL, AWS and data‑visualisation tools to turn complex data into actionable insights.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine‑learning models to support cyber security, national security and law‑enforcement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into data pipelines, analytical frameworks and visual dashboards.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical modelling and feature engineering on large, heterogeneous datasets.
- Implement and maintain cloud‑based data solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability, security and cost‑effectiveness.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders through clear visualisations and reports.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and its data‑science ecosystem (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Experience building and deploying models in a cloud environment, preferably AWS (SageMaker, EC2, S3).
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, hypothesis testing and experimental design.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
- Ability to create compelling visualisations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Plotly.
