Data Scientist focused on developing and supporting algorithms for live imagery products in a defense environment, leveraging Python, machine learning, and Linux-based data pipelines to enable advanced analysis for unmanned surface vehicles and other naval applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and models for live imagery product standardization.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data requirements and validate algorithm performance.
- Implement machine learning and statistical techniques to extract actionable insights from large image datasets.
- Document data processes, model assumptions, and results for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support deployment and monitoring of models in a Linux production environment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and experience with data science libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit‑learn).
- Strong background in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
- Hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems and command‑line tools.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database querying.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical setting.
