Experienced Data Scientist needed to design and deploy AI/ML solutions, NLP pipelines, and graph‑based analytics for federal fraud detection and investigative support, leveraging Python, SQL and advanced modeling techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and operationalize machine‑learning models to detect fraudulent behavior across large, heterogeneous data sets.
- Design NLP and large‑language‑model pipelines for extracting insights from unstructured text such as reports, emails, and social media.
- Apply graph analytics and relationship‑discovery techniques to uncover hidden networks and collusion patterns.
- Collaborate with investigators and subject‑matter experts to translate domain knowledge into analytical features and actionable intelligence.
- Produce clear visualizations, dashboards, and technical documentation to communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, with a focus on AI/ML, NLP, or graph analytics.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with ML libraries such as scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Hands‑on experience building and deploying models for fraud detection, including feature engineering for structured and unstructured data.
- Strong understanding of natural language processing techniques and large language model fine‑tuning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and work remotely with occasional travel.
