The Data Science Manager will lead a team of data scientists and engineers, driving the creation of data science roadmaps and developing advanced modeling techniques. We are looking to hire a certified Data Scientist Manager who will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CIO to create a data science roadmap tailored to constantly aid data governance across the business and improve overall business performance.
- Lead a team of data scientists and engineers in the development of new insights, advanced modeling techniques, and data science capabilities.
- Lead and prioritize deep dives into our data to uncover new opportunities. Work on challenging fundamental data science issues where necessary, realizes, and develops solutions independently or in collaboration with the team.
- Find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action with the team.
- Manage new data tables that support data collection in the department, cross-channel data integration, data visualization, dashboards, predictive analytics, and data mining.
- Support product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with insights gained from analysing company data.
- Use predictive modelling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.
- Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality. Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and data accuracy.
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Communicate findings to key stakeholders through reports and presentations.
Qualification/Skills Required
- Master’s or PhD in Statistics/Mathematics with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
- Must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms, and creating/running simulations.
- Proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights.
- Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Hadoop, Hive, MySQL, etc.
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Experience working with and creating data architectures.
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
