About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define the product vision and roadmap for an ABAP foundation model, aligning AI capabilities with SAP enterprise needs.
- Lead a cross‑functional data science team, guiding model research, development, and production deployment.
- Design and implement end‑to‑end pipelines using Python, ABAP, and SAP Cloud services for data ingestion, preprocessing, training, and inference.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and domain experts to integrate the model into SAP solutions and ensure performance, security, and compliance.
- Stay current with advances in large language models and machine‑learning frameworks, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people‑management role.
- Strong programming skills in Python and hands‑on experience with ABAP development.
- Proven track record building, training, and deploying large language models or foundation models in production.
- Deep understanding of SAP Cloud Platform, data engineering, and enterprise AI integration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, with a passion for mentoring technical talent.
