About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data protection controls across cloud and on‑prem environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop automated scripts in Python and SQL to monitor data access, detect anomalies, and enforce encryption policies.
- Collaborate with business units to define data ownership, classification, and retention schedules, integrating governance into daily operations.
- Work closely with cybersecurity operations and incident responders to investigate and remediate data‑related incidents.
- Document and update data protection procedures, audit findings, and remediation plans for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data security, data governance, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, and AWS services (S3, KMS, IAM).
- Strong understanding of encryption, tokenization, and data masking techniques.
- Experience with data lifecycle management and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
