Security Engineer
Data Privacy & Security Analyst responsible for safeguarding sensitive health data, ensuring HIPAA and GDPR compliance, and managing risk and incident response across the organization.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain privacy and security policies aligned with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits to identify and mitigate data protection gaps.
- Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of data breaches.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to implement technical controls such as encryption, access management, and data masking.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on privacy best practices and secure data handling procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data privacy and security within a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, and other privacy regulations.
- Experience with risk assessment frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and incident response planning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
