Data Engineer
Lead the migration from on‑prem SQL Server to a modern Azure data platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance while shaping architecture, tooling, and operational practices for next‑generation analytics.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and lakehouse solutions on Azure.
- Lead the migration of legacy SQL Server workloads to Azure Synapse, Data Lake, and related services.
- Implement security, governance, and compliance controls across the data platform.
- Optimize performance and cost of data processing and storage.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on cloud platforms.
- Proficient in Azure services such as Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Data Factory, and Azure SQL.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and columnar databases.
- Hands‑on experience with data pipeline orchestration, ETL/ELT, and data quality frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices.
