This role is in support of Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand of Cencora, offering animal health services globally.
As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for working with our customer data and various activities (e.g. migration, installation, cleaning, analysis, updates). You will work with multiple data-sources, including practice management systems, databases and flat-files. You will work on various projects, including data migration, analysis, updates and transformation. You will take ownership of each project and liaise with the end users to ensure successful completion. This role will be on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing of data from a range of source systems to target systems
- Data analysis, data collection and cleaning
- Data conversion integrity and verification
- Liaison with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle (data validation checks etc.) ensuring requirements are captured and met
- Create and maintain data pipelines
- Assist other technical teams on database optimisation
- Provide assistance to technical teams to resolve data related issues
- Work with other departments to improve processes where data is involved
- Remote monitoring & diagnostics of data pipelines
- Work with technical teams on data backup, maintenance and processing
- Understand and comply with job relevant company practice standards at all times.
- Understand and work with the standard operating procedures

Experience, skills and knowledge requirements:
- Experience with relational databases (e.g MS SQL Server) and ability to write SQL
- Data pipeline experience (including migration) using a range of processes
- Experience of an integration technology (e.g. SQL Server Integration Services – SSIS)
- Strong analytical and organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with staff and customers
- Experience of working in a fast paced and regulated environment
- Ability to work within a collaborative team as well as independently
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload whilst meeting deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly including evening and weekends where required
Desirable skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure)Experience with version control systems, container technology (e.g. Docker) and code quality best practices.
