Software Engineer
Implement and maintain data governance solutions using Microsoft Purview, develop automation scripts for API integration, and manage version‑controlled code in Azure DevOps while supporting Azure‑based data assets.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and operate Microsoft Purview and Unified Catalog to enforce data governance policies across Azure data platforms.
- Develop and maintain utility scripts and small applications that interact with RESTful APIs for data cataloging, lineage, and metadata ingestion.
- Implement source‑control best practices using Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines for governance code and configuration artifacts.
- Collaborate with data engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data assets meet compliance, privacy, and quality standards.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data governance workflows, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in data governance, data engineering, or cybersecurity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Purview (or similar data catalog solutions) and Azure cloud services.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or similar) for building API‑driven utilities.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for version control, build pipelines, and release management.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to perform repetitive, high‑accuracy tasks and a strong curiosity for emerging data technologies.
