Data Governance Analyst – Metadata role focused on building and evolving metadata services, ensuring trusted, well‑managed, and discoverable data and AI products using data cataloging, quality, and governance tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain metadata repositories and data catalog solutions to support enterprise data discovery and lineage.
- Collaborate with data stewards, architects, and business users to define metadata standards, taxonomies, and data quality rules.
- Develop and automate metadata extraction, enrichment, and validation processes using SQL and Python scripts.
- Monitor and report on metadata health, completeness, and compliance with governance policies.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on metadata tools and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data governance and metadata management within a large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) and metadata extraction techniques.
- Hands‑on skills in SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to business audiences.
- Experience with data quality frameworks and data lineage documentation is a plus.
