Data Engineer
Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and securing cloud‑based data pipelines, implementing governance policies, and supporting analytics initiatives using Python, SQL, AWS, and Airflow while holding a TS/SCI clearance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS using Python, SQL, and Airflow.
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance with security standards.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and security teams to deliver reliable data sets for analytics and machine‑learning workloads.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Enforce data security controls, manage access permissions, and support incident response for data‑related events.
Requirements
- Proven experience building cloud‑native data pipelines on AWS (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue).
- Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL for data transformation.
- Hands‑on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
- Solid understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance best practices.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain).
