Data Engineer
Lead data engineering initiatives for federal clients, designing and maintaining cloud‑based data pipelines, integration workflows, and analytics environments using Python, SQL, AWS, and Airflow.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes on AWS cloud services.
- Lead the design and implementation of data integration solutions, ensuring data quality, lineage, and metadata management.
- Collaborate with data scientists, reporting teams, and system managers to deliver analytics‑ready datasets and support self‑service BI tools.
- Optimize data models and storage solutions for performance, cost efficiency, and security compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers, enforce best practices, and drive continuous improvement of the data engineering stack.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation, scripting, and automation.
- Hands‑on experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or similar.
- Strong understanding of ETL design patterns, data modeling, and metadata management.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, security‑sensitive environment.
