About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Data Engineer in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines for the VA Office of Information & Technology.
- Develop and execute data transformation scripts using Python and SQL to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Implement secure data integration processes that comply with federal security standards.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply fixes to maintain reliable data flow.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and support reporting needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and secure data handling practices.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in a fast‑paced, contract‑driven environment.
