Data Engineer
Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data within Microsoft Azure, leveraging Databricks and Microsoft Fabric to support AI and data science initiatives.
About the role
- Design, build and maintain robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and operate data solutions in the Microsoft Azure environment, using Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric.
- Use Python and SQL (and frameworks such as PySpark) for data processing, transformation and automation.
- Contribute to data integration, data modeling, data quality and data provisioning across projects.
- Work with modern data architecture concepts such as Lakehouse and Medallion architectures.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to translate requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions.
- Around 2–4 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Strong Python skills (pandas, NumPy, PySpark, Spark, Delta Lake or similar frameworks) and solid hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.
- Good command of SQL.
- Experience with Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience designing and operating data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
- Experience with modern data architecture concepts such as Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Medallion Architecture, Data Governance or semantic data models
- You are committed, creative and structured, and you have a strong hands-on mentality.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of your tasks.
- Curious, proactive, open-minded and willing to learn.
- Comfortable using AI tools in your daily work.
- Strong communication skills — you enjoy direct customer contact and translating business problems into robust technical solutions.
- English is sufficient; German is a plus.
- Nice to have : Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense or Tableau, or the willingness to use them effectively.
