Data Engineer
Data Engineer in Finance building cloud‑based pipelines with Python, SQL and AWS to deliver reliable, high‑quality financial data for reporting, controls and strategic analysis.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS to ingest, transform and load financial data from multiple source systems.
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data models.
- Implement data quality checks, lineage tracking and automated monitoring to ensure accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial datasets.
- Optimize query performance and storage costs using best practices in data warehousing and columnar storage.
- Document architecture, processes and data definitions for audit readiness and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar role in a finance or enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL design patterns and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with business and technical teams.
