Data Engineer
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS services to support analytics and reporting across government systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load large datasets into data warehouses.
- Implement data models and schemas that support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, applying best practices for scalability and reliability.
- Document data flows, architecture decisions, and maintain technical specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Python for data engineering tasks.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, or Athena.
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL design patterns, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional team.
