Data Engineer
Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and warehouses using Python, SQL, AWS, Airflow, and Snowflake to support mission‑critical analytics for defense and intelligence customers.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load large volumes of structured and semi‑structured data.
- Implement and manage data warehouse solutions on Snowflake, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Orchestrate workflow automation using Apache Airflow, monitoring job health and handling failures with alerting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and security engineers to deliver reliable data sets for advanced analytics and machine‑learning models.
- Apply best practices for data governance, access control, and compliance within AWS environments.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience building data pipelines with Python and SQL.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, IAM) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Proficiency in Snowflake data warehousing, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Apache Airflow for workflow scheduling and monitoring.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work in a secure, classified environment, and a commitment to data security best practices.
